THE LIGHTER SIDE OF CONCRETE AND CLASSROOM PROJECTS

The Parish Council would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Jez Butler (of Death by Chocolate) for his new album The Lighter Side of Concrete. Its a highly enjoyable and brilliantly executed homage to the work of the BBC Radiophonic workshop's John Baker. Its out on CD on Disques Boum on 15th October and can be pre-ordered here and now. You can stream preview clips right here...

Also gratefully received from Trunk Records, Classroom Projects is a magical compilation of 60's and 70's school records. These gems  are much beloved by some of the longest serving Ghost Box artists and are in evidence here and there in their back catalogue. Fans of the Toys and Techniques blog will love this strangely beguiling selection ranging from the light and folksy to the darkest avant garde. Naturally enough Ghost Box are all over this one, its remastered by Jon "Advisory Circle" Brooks and cover art is by Julian "Focus Group" House. Available now with preview clips in the Trunk Shop, CD and DL only (the LPs are sadly all gone by now).
